How to wash Pillows without removable covers can be a bit of a challenge. Afterall, you love your Pillow and you really don’t want to just throw it in the wash to have to ruined. This is where things can get a bit tricky, but not impossible. Washing pillows without removable covers must be done in a delicate fashion. These are pillows that the stuffing is directly into the pillow itself. There are a few ways to go about this. One of those ways would involve a vacuum cleaner and hose attachment.
A vacuum cleaner is always a great method to use whether the pillow looks dirty or not, as pillows sit around they collect dust and other debris from the air. People sitting on them, laying about with them and even pets can make these pillows a collection of yuck. So, by taking a vacuum to them, they can get some of that collection out. To do this, carefully take the pillow and run the vacuum hose up and down both sides and pay attention to any seams or ruffles and such that might need a bit more care. This will help get out all dander and dust and dust mites that have made it a home.

If your pillow is getting really bad, you may need to go further than just a vacuum. This will require a good steam cleaner. There are many steam cleaners out there on the market and some for the floors even come with attachments for your furniture and such. These work as well on Pillows. Steam cleaners help get out tougher spots and light stains. A little steam can help really sanitize the pillows as well. Steam cleaners are great for cleaning all kinds of furniture and also curtains.
Should something like food fall onto the pillow immediately clean it up the best you can with a damp rag and some water. Should you need some spot remover, there is all kinds on the market, but we recommend you test in a safe area to ensure the color can handle the cleaner. Things like Peroxide are great cleaning tools as well and most fabrics can handle the peroxide cleaning. Just put some peroxide in a spray bottle without diluting and spray on the spot. The spot should come up clean if it is anything organic like food or pet odor is a great one for Peroxide.

Pet’s love to lay around on pillows but man, they can get smelly. There are smelly fragrance sprays out there, however, that’s more of a cover-up that a cure for your smelly pillow. Instead, grab several bottles of peroxide and draw some warm water into the tub. Pour the Peroxide into the tub so it’s diluted slightly with the warm water. And, hand wash the pillow. This is great for pet beds. Using your hands to move the water in and out of the pillow. When it’s fully saturated and you’re satisfied with the results, then drain. And, fill back up with some more warm water for rinsing.
